17-year-old Rajbir made our country proud, But he is pushing wheelchairs now in an NGO to support himself and his family. Rajbir suffers from ‘below average intellectual and adaptive functioning’. He was given a grand welcome when he came home after winning and SAD-BJP government in Punjab announced to give a reward of ₹15 lakh. The CM, Parkash Singh also promised to give reward of ₹1 lakh in additional.

Unfortunately, every promise turned out to be hollow and he received nothing. Though the Union government did give him ₹10 lakh but in form of bonds and has not matured yet. He is with no financial support from the government, so started working as a daily wage labourer with his father.

After meeting him, Gurpreet Singh, founder of NGO Manukhta Di Sewa came forward and he took him to his NGO in Baran Hara where Rajbir now does sewa. He was also given a  cycle and took care of his diet and medicines.
